Consultation Information

HOW DO I GET TATTOOED BY REMEDY?

To start the process, you must first read through this entire document, then submit your idea to the email listed at the end. Be sure to read this entire document and follow the instructions within when you submit your idea to Remedy’s consultation email. You may request a consultation via the booking app link, which Remedy will confirm or ask for more information. If you book a consultation, please send an email as well, including all relevant information.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Remedy will then review the requests and determine which projects she is interested in taking on. Due to the overwhelming amount of requests that Remedy receives, there is no way for her to be able respond to every request nor to take on every project that is presented to her.

IS THERE A WAY TO INCREASE MY CHANCES OF BEING TATTOOED BY REMEDY?

Yes. Remedy prefers to take on projects with fewer restrictions on design and body placement over something that has very set in stone parameters. Bringing her a great idea with more creative freedoms will get you noticed quicker than an idea with things that must be done a certain way in the tattoo. Larger themed projects, insects, plants, animals, fine art, photo realism projects and tattoos on clean skin (versus cover-ups) normally receive scheduling priority. Lastly, Remedy is looking for clients that are dedicated enough to put forth the time and financial investment that is necessary for them to receive the best possible tattoo.

WHAT IF REMEDY CHOOSES NOT TO TAKE ON MY PROJECT?

You can view the portfolios of Remedy’s coworkers on our website, www.inklab.com. If Remedy thinks the project is suited well for someone she knows, she may respond to your email with a referral of an artist that would better be suited for the project requested.

HOW MUCH DOES REMEDY CHARGE?

Remedy charges $150 per hour.

To schedule a project, you must be able to travel to Minneapolis and have a half day (3 hour) or full day (6 hour) appointment, preferably once per month.

For a rough idea of how long pieces can take; these are just time/cost estimates, every tattoo varies, black and grey tends to be quicker than color, and style of design is a factor (photorealism in color being the most time intensive style tattoo):

-Photorealistic color tattoos the size of a palm can take 3-5 hours, total cost $450-$750
-1/2 sleeve, 15-30 hours, total cost $2250-$4500
-Full sleeve, 30-60 hours, total cost $4500-$9000
-Full leg sleeve, 50-100 hours, total cost $7500-$15000
-Full back piece, 60-120 hours, total cost $9000-$18000

HOW MUCH OF A DEPOSIT DOES REMEDY REQUIRE?

Remedy requires a minimum deposit of $150, however deposits vary depending on the tattoo. Deposits for a half-sleeve sized tattoo is $300, full-sleeve or back piece sized tattoo is $500. Deposits are nonrefundable and will be deducted from the last session of your tattoo. If you no-call, no-show an appointment, your deposit may be forfeited and an additional deposit may be required to set up new appointments.

HOW SOON CAN I GET AN APPOINTMENT TO START MY TATTOO?

At the time of your consultation, Remedy will usually be booking tattoos 3-4 months in advance. With most larger projects, Remedy suggests you set up at least 4 appointments during the consultation. This ensures you don’t end up with a large gap between appointments.

DO I HAVE TO COME IN TO DO THE CONSULTATION?

Face to face consultations are preferred whenever possible. When we contact you to schedule your consultation, if you are unable to come to our shop (IE: if you are from out of state), then the consultation can be done over email or Zoom, and a deposit can be taken through PayPal.
